Ministry Prayer Requests & Thanksgiving

Alaska

Please pray that God would bring about the right relationships and opportunities for the biggest impact, across this expansive state, for His Kingdom.

Please keep Zion Lutheran, Fairbanks, and the Fairbanks Native Bible Church in your prayers. Nathan and Sarah partner with both churches. (Nathan recently helped serve at the Native Bible Church's Fall Festival and served on the Zion Lutheran pastor call committee.)

Please, also pray for calm and patient hearts, as Nathan and Sarah, together, work in ministry, take classes for additional training, and parent their five young children. Keep the whole family in good health spiritually, mentally, and physically.

Arizona

Join us in welcoming Joe Lundstrom as the new Director of Christian Education at

Sacred Ground-Mesa. We give thanks for his experience and leadership and for the growth happening in the Phoenix area.

Mesa recently joined forces with Toys for Tots and will be distributing toys to local reservations this winter. Pray that this event will reach hearts for Jesus and bring joy to families!

Joe also asked for prayers for:

  • the physical and emotional health of staff, individuals we serve, and family.

  • continued successful relationships with local organizations, like NAFFA and the many residential houses we work alongside.

  • the Gila River Reservation, which recently experienced four Covid deaths, help the community find peace.

Manitoba/Canada

Please pray for the families in the Northeran Canadian communities. They are struggling with the isolation, the distance from loved ones, and the inability to mourn together when tragedy strikes. Pray for guidance and wisdom for Rick and Linda as they continue counseling from a distance, via zoom and the telephone.

Kansas

Deon asked for prayers for:

  • Wisdom for Sacred Ground Haskell staff about how to best help students during the pandemic.

  • Guidance as we work with people in the Lawrence area to plan a Native American Community Center.

  • Successful studies for Haskell Indian Nations University students.

  • Safety and good health for Haskell students and staff.

  • Thanks for a fun and successful Back-to School Event.

New Mexico

Join us in welcoming Kyonia Chavez as our new ministry leader in Albuquerque, New Mexico. We give thanks for her passion and heart for Native ministry.

Please pray for the Navajo people. At the time of this printing, the Navajo Nation is still following daily and full weekend curfews to stop the spread of Covid-19. Pray for health and peace of mind for those affected by both the virus and the isolation.

Washington

The Makah Reservation is still closed and unable to come together for church. Please pray for the faith and strength of the church members and those who are seeking truth.

Give thanks with us for:

  • Ben and Natalie's successful Father's Day Breakfast and Back-to-School Event in Neah Bay.

  • Rick McCafferty's ordination.

  • Dave Sternbeck's acceptance into the Master of Arts in Counseling and Psychology at the Seattle School of Theology and Psychology.

We ask for strength and guidance for Rick as he steps into a new role to help direct and manage our nationwide healing programs and for the work he has been doing to help in Mesa.

Continue to pray for Cousin's Food Truck as they serve the community and show Christ's love.

Wisconsin

Join us in welcoming Antonio Doxtator, our new Program Director, who is working on starting programs and services for the Native people of Milwaukee. We give praise for his willing heart and ability to make connections in southeastern Wisconsin.
