Lutheran Indian Ministries Joins the #GivingTuesday Movement

Lutheran Indian Ministries has joined #GivingTuesday, a first of its kind effort that harnesses the collective power of a unique blend of partners – charities, families, businesses, and individuals – to transform how people think about, talk about, and participate in the giving season. Give Hope GivingTuesday

Taking place December 2, 2014 – the Tuesday after Thanksgiving – #GivingTuesday harnesses the power of social media to create a national moment around the holidays dedicated to giving, similar to how Black Friday and Cyber Monday have become days that are, today, synonymous with holiday shopping.

“Key to our mission is to help build the capacity of Native Americans to impact their communities for the sake of Christ’s Kingdom,” says Rev. Dr. Don Johnson, Executive Director of Lutheran Indian Ministries.

#GivingTuesday is also about community – a global community of caring people seeking to transform the lives of those in need. Wherever we serve, we find countless people in need of God’s healing power. By joining the #GivingTuesday movement, we ensure the focus of the season is on transforming lives and giving hope through God’s love.
