HASKELL LIGHT news       January  2020

The Native American college students at Haskell Indian Nations University are now in their 2nd Semester.  Here are  PRAYER REQUESTS FOR JANUARY.   Thank you for praying!

v Sunday Gatherings at 6pm:  Pray for God to use the meal, music and Bible Study with discussion to bring many into a true saving relationship with Jesus.  Ask God to send students who can help with food prep, music and childcare.  Pray for Bob, Deon & Bill to have weekly prep time.

v Staff: Pray for the effective use of our skills and spiritual gifts; to support each other; and opportunities to share God’s love with students, University staff and the Lawrence community. Pray for good health for us & our kids.

v Strengthening Families:  We are the location for a program by Kansas Serves Native American Families.  It is designed to help families be strong and safe.  The material is specific for the Native American culture.  Pray for opportunities to share the message of salvation and love of God with the 20 to 40 participants and staff from January to early May.

v Sacred Ground Sacred Story:  This 3 day gathering will happen Feb. 15-17 to help people find emotional and spiritual healing from trauma and grief.  Pray for the University to let us use a classroom building; for the Holy Spirit to prepare the hearts and minds of those needing the healing; for God to heal them; for God’s wisdom and compassion to flow through the leaders; and for safe travels for those coming from Wisconsin, Washington State, Alaska and Canada.

v Phase 2 of Building:  Pray for God’s continued guidance and provision of funds to add small study/childcare rooms, an office and a meeting room.
