Thirsty (for Knowledge) Thursday - Celebration of Culture
While the Black Hills powwow may be held in a modern high school gymnasium, it's tradition dates back to spiritual customs and helps to unite many different tribes from across America.
It's all about relationships and Jesus
Through our core of volunteers and the ministry staff who served before us, and through you, our faithful partner in ministry, we are seeing God work in the lives of the children, teens, adults and elders in these villages and lives are being changed in service to God and His Kingdom!
Thy Will Be Done: Spiritual Warriors Prayer, Part 3
God’s will is done when He breaks and hinders every evil plan and purpose of the devil, the world, and our sinful nature, which do not want us to hallow God’s name or let His kingdom come; and when He strengthens and keeps us firm in His Word and faith until we die.
Luke 5:6-9 FNV
We should rather say, “Lord, for that very reason, while we own ourselves most unworthy of thy presence, we most importunately entreat it: Come unto me, O Lord, for I am a sinful man, and if thou stand at a distance from me, I perish! Come and recover my heart from the tyranny of sin; come and possess it, and fix it for thyself.”

Thirsty (for Knowledge) Thursday - Keeping the Beat
In Powwow Trail, Dylan Jennings shares a weekend of singing with Midnite Express and dancing at the Oneida Powwow. It is through dance that he keeps his connection to his ancestors and hopes to pass it on to the next generation. This video is part of The Ways, an ongoing series of stories on culture and language from Native communities around the central Great Lakes.
Thank You, Stranger
Thank you, Stranger.
I don't know who you are, but I know that without your prayers and donations to Lutheran Indian Ministries, I would not be where I am today. I know that you are the one who allows LIM's ministry staff to work all over the country to help Native people, of all nations, learn about the love and mercy and faithfulness of our Heavenly Father and the salvation we have through his Son, Jesus. Your support helps Native people, as a whole, to spring forward into God's glorious light.
So, thank you! And even though I don't know you, Stranger, I consider you my friend.
Thy Kingdom Come: : Spiritual Warriors Prayer, Part 2
The kingdom of God certainly comes by itself without our prayer, but we pray in this petition that it may come to us also.
God’s kingdom comes when our heavenly Father gives us His Holy Spirit so that by His grace we believe His Holy Word and lead godly lives here in time and there in eternity.
Luke 5:4-5 FNV
We must not presently quit the callings in which we are engaged, because we have not the success in them which we promised ourselves. The ministers of the gospel in particular must continue to let down their nets, though they have, perhaps, toiled long, and caught nothing. They must persevere unwearied in their labours, though they see not the success of them. And in this they must have an eye to the word of Christ, and a dependance thereupon.
