A Quick Christmas Update from Navajo

Saturday, December 14th, we delivered Christmas boxes filled with frozen turkeys, coffee, beans, rice, flour, sugar, oranges, spam and peanuts to church members.

We delivered 15 boxes to single senior members of our congregation. We also delivered to a few non-members in need in our community. One woman cares for her husband who has Parkinson’s, and two widows whose husbands killed themselves recently. We had 4 adults, 5 youth, and 7 elementary students help with the distribution (our largest participation yet). The food this year was provided by Grace Lutheran Church in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

It is difficult to communicate the emotions of this event with words and pictures. It is a highlight of the year for both the givers and receivers. And we all end the day feeling loved, by our Savior, Jesus, and by the community we blessed to be a part of.

On top of that, our church is growing! We recently had our biggest group for the Children’s Message on Sunday. Praise God for the little ones who are hearing about God’s love this Christmas season!

May God bless all of you at Christmas and all year round and thank you for all that you do to make Native ministry happen.

In Christ,

Tim Norton
