Creating a Living Language - Thirsty (for Knowledge) Thursday

Ron Corn Jr.'s shares his attempt to teach his daughter, Mimikwaeh, to be a first language speaker of the Menominee language. He hopes to see his language survive and flourish, but with less than 10 people who use it as their first language, it's a long road ahead.

"It's easier to speak our language when we're in the woods, because our language is really based on what's going on out there. But how do we make that transition into today's life... We spend a lot of days at home, in the office, on the road, and we have to learn to express those things, too."
