Give Thanks!

GIVE THANKS!

In times of pandemic, quarantine, and social distancing… GIVE THANKS!

In times of economic uncertainty, job loss, and threatened businesses… GIVE THANKS!

In times of racial strife and cultural revolution… GIVE THANKS!

The Bible tells us, “Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” (1 Thessalonians 5:18)

And so, we give thanks:

  • For our good, gracious, and merciful God who loves us more than we can possibly fathom. So much so that he gave his only Son to die in our place.

  • For our Creator who is still on the throne and in control of every aspect of our lives, even when everything appears to be spinning wildly out of control.

  • For our loving and attentive Father who hears our prayers and provides for our needs in His time and according to His will.

  • That God has called us (you, me, and our entire ministry staff) to this unique and important outreach to Native peoples.

  • That God has blessed Lutheran Indian Ministries with another amazing year! Despite COVID and all of the ambiguity swirling around the world, by the grace of God, we have served more Native people than ever before.

We GIVE THANKS that the circumstances of the world did not deter, detour, or even delay our ministry staff from our mission of PROCLAIMING, DISCIPLING, and HEALING according to His purpose.

Although it is easy to feel down, depressed, or anxious when we come face to face with the uncertainties of this life, God promises us, even when things are going wrong (and they will), He is always with us. Our future and our ultimate triumph are certain to God. He has all the foreknowledge, power, resources, and desire to turn everything for good for those who love him and are called by him (Romans 8:28).

We move forward with the knowledge that we serve a God of faith, not one of fear. We will not only give thanks in times of great distress, but we will take delight in His comfort and feel joy (Psalm 94:19), for God is good all of the time!

Native people depend on the ministry work we do every day! They need to hear about the love of Jesus and His sacrifice. They need to know the joy we have as children of God. But they also desperately thirst for healing from generational trauma and addiction, so this message of love and salvation can live in their hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Our ministry has served so many Native brothers and sisters, even during these interesting and challenging times, and we GIVE THANKS to our great and merciful God who sustains and encourages us in this wonderful mission because of generous donors like you.

And so, we GIVE THANKS for you!

We are blessed every day by your presence in this ministry and your passion for your Native brothers and sisters.

We are blessed by your faithfulness to the work God has called us to and we give thanks for your prayers, for your support, and for your generous gifts.

God is still on His throne. He is still in control. So, we are filled with joy and faith, and WE GIVE THANKS with a grateful heart.

May the Lord bless you and keep you always!

In Him,

Tim Young Eagle (Pawnee)
Executive Director
