God's great plan "for hope and a future" is for all people, but His Kingdom is short on Natives.

We, who want so much mercy from God, must learn to show mercy to our fellow-men. How can we look to Him for mercy if we never show mercy, how can we ask forgiveness unless we forgive?

This Week in Native American News (11/24/17): Suicide Conference, Entrepreneur Program, and a Christmas List

If the first Thanksgiving was the church's first potluck or potlatch supper and subsequent outreach to Native Americans...it failed as surely as the church has failed in its evangelistic efforts for the past 500 years. 

We weren't worshipping the same God on that day and sadly, today, for many Native Americans that has not changed.

This is the reason that the work that we do as Lutheran Indian Ministries is so important. 

Like the Native families that gave everything to their community, confident of what was waiting for them, are we willing to give beyond our comfort, trusting that, because of our faith in Jesus as our Savior, we have the ultimate reward awaiting us?

The returning good for good and evil for evil, - this is the ordinary rule of man; then beneath this there is the returning of evil for good, which is devilish; while above it there is the returning of good for evil, which is Divine, - and this is what is commanded for the followers of Jesus here.
